Costume Designer
David Murin has designed close to 300 productions for Broadway, Off Broadway, Regional Theatre, Ballet, Opera and Television. He designed the 2007/08 production of Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus. Broadway credits include the recent revivals of Crimes of the Heart, Steel Magnolias, and The Foreigner. Other Broadway credits include Ned & Jack, Blues in the Night, Mixed Emotions, Devour the Snow, A Change in the Heir, A Talent for Murder, and The Caine Mutiny Court Martial. David supervised Edward Gorey's designs for Gorey Stories. Some Off Broadway productions include The The Common Pursuit, The Middle Ages, The Fourth Wall, Ladyhouse Blues. His costume designs for Regional Theatres include: Seattle Rep, George Street Playhouse, Paper Mill Playhouse, Long Wharf, Hartford Stage, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Cleveland Playhouse, Alley Theatre, Arizona Theatre Co. Pittsburgh Public Theatre, Cincinnati Playhouse, Missouri Rep. Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Huntington Theatre Co. Westport Playhouse, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Berkshire Theatre Festival, Virginia Opera, & Pacific Northwest Ballet
David has been Master Class in Costume Design teacher at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University for 25 years. And a member of the United Scenic Artists Committee, TDF/Irene Sharaff Voting Committee for 10 years.
